How to keep score

  1. Write the four names at the top.
  2. One row per game: the points of the game under “Points”, then the new score for all four. The winners get the points added, the losers get them subtracted.
  3. In a solo, the soloist gets three times the points, each opponent once.
  4. Bock rounds are a house rule. If you play with them, make a tick under “Bock”.

How scoring works

Points per game under the tournament rules of the German Doppelkopf Association (DDV), in short.

ForPoints
Won1
No 90: losers have fewer than 90 card points+1
No 60+1
No 30+1
Schwarz: losers take no trick+1
Re announced+2
Kontra announced+2
No 90, no 60, no 30 or schwarz announced+1 each
Against the elders: Kontra wins (not in a solo)+1

Extra points (not in a solo)

ForPoints
Doppelkopf: a trick with at least 40 card points+1
Fox caught: winning the opponents’ ace of diamonds+1
Charlie: the jack of clubs takes the last trick+1

Extra points go to the team that makes them, even if it loses the game. They are set off against the points of the game.

All the details are in the DDV tournament rules. Anything not in there is a house rule.

Questions and answers

How many points is a won game worth?

One. Add points for no 90, no 60, no 30 and schwarz, for announcements and for extra points.

How does a solo count?

Like a normal game, but the soloist gets three times the points added or subtracted. Each of the three opponents gets them once.

What is a Doppelkopf?

A trick with at least 40 card points. It earns the team that takes it an extra point.

What are bock rounds?

A house rule: after certain games, the next games count double. They are not part of the tournament rules.
