Questions and answers

How do you work out the game value in Skat?

Count the matadors, add the multipliers and multiply the sum by the base value. Clubs with 2, hand, schneider: (2 + 1 + 1 + 1) × 12 = 60.

What does “with 2” and “without 2” mean?

With 2: you hold the jacks of clubs and spades, but not the next trump. Without 2: the two highest trumps are missing, but you hold the third.

How much does a lost game count?

Twice the game value as minus points, hand games too. Clubs with 2, hand, schneider lost: −120.

What happens if I overbid?

The game is lost. It counts the smallest multiple of the base value that reaches your bid, for null the next null value. Spades with 1 is worth 22; bid to 24, it counts 33, so −66.
